Nicki Minaj has been one busy Barb since her third album, ‘The Pinkprint,’ dropped on Monday (Dec.15). She appeared on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ and ‘Today,’ to name a few.
Her Minajesty keeps the momentum going by stopping by TNT’s ‘Inside the NBA,’ where she and hosts Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson and Grant Hill took part in a hilarious cypher.
Kenny Smith kicked off the battle with comedic bars about his accomplishments and dough. Then he passed the torch off to Grant Hill, who cheated a bit by reciting his freestyle from a paper he had stashed away in his pocket.
Shaq, who is no stranger to the rap game, switched up the beat and channeled the ‘90’s with his throwback bars. The former rapper had fun with the rhymes and even proposed to Nicki — she declined. But it was all laughs until she shut ‘em down with a verse, spitting lyrics a cappella.
“The know Nicki gon’ kill ol’ girl / Plus they no G gon’ kill those deals / I give zero F’s/ I ain’t got no chill / And I ridin’ the bassline like ‘Quille O’Neal,” she raps.
They even got a reluctant Ernie Johnson to spit a few bars. Leave it to Nicki to bring out the MC in everyone.
