Contact Us The Twitter war between Azealia Banks and Iggy Azalea continued to heat up today (Dec. 19) following Banks’ scathing comments about the ‘Fancy’ rhymer during a Hot 97 interview this week. Banks reiterated her comments about racism in the rap game and how white rappers are given higher regard when it comes to awards and accolades — words she tweeted earlier this month. “I feel like in this country, whenever it comes to our things, like black issues or black politics or black music or whatever, there’s always this undercurrent of kinda like a ‘f— you,’” Banks told the ‘Ebro in the Morning’ show. “There’s always a ‘F— y’all n—-s. Y’all don’t really own s—. Y’all don’t have s—.’ That Macklemore album wasn’t better than the Drake record. Of course, the convo led her right to her nemesis Iggy, T.I. and Hustle Gang. “That Iggy Azalea s— isn’t better than any f—ing black girl that’s rapping today… The Grammys are supposed to be accolades of artistic excellence. Iggy Azalea is not excellent,” she said. After clapping back — without mentioning her Bank’s name — when the ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ creator slammed her for failing to care about black issues, Iggy spoke up again after learning of what was said during the Hot 97 sit-down. “There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven’t is because of your piss poor attitude,” Azalea wrote. The ladies continued to cut deeply at one another, with Banks maintaining racism is clearly an issue, and Azalea calling her a bigot and accusing her of pulling the race card.
