The bad news for Fashawn fans is his highly anticipated album ‘The Ecology’ has been pushed back to 2015. The good news is the talented MC has teamed up with fellow California native Dom Kennedy for the brand new single ‘Golden State of Mind’ produced by Exile.

Exile’s production provokes vivid imagery of a sunny Cali skyline as Fashawn and Dom share their experiences of life on the West Coast. Both MCs drop some dope rhymes here, but Fashawn really shines on the third and final verse.

Fashawn raps, “Yeah, no place like home / A O.G. say these California streets ain’t paved for gold / Dayton’s and Fo’s, the only way to roll / Say a prayer young n—a, try and save your soul / Soldiers die everyday, swear nobody is safe / Where killers migrate just to live and die in L.A / Big city of dreams / L.A. learn how to hold you wet living in the golden state / Get 25 or the L for ‘em low on the 8 / Come and pay us a visit, coast or the Pacific / Just to be specific, loads of pretty bitches / In addition to the CHP / Roll a eighth, hit the bay, bump some E-A-Ski / And send a R.I.P to Mac D-R-E / Real recognize real, we don’t need I.D / And if it wasn’t for the west you wouldn’t need a vest / For your jimmy in the city of sex, once again it’s the F.”

‘Golden State of Mind’ is slated to be appear on the ‘Mass Appeal Volume 1' compilation, which is expected to drop later this year.
