Jeezy, Kendrick Lamar & 2 Chainz Give Back to Their Communities For the Holidays

The holiday season is the perfect time to give back to those less fortunate and many rappers in the hip-hop community are doing that in a major way.

For example, Jeezy rented out an entire Atlanta movie theater so hundreds of kids could see ‘Annie,’ and he even sprung for popcorn, candy and other refreshments, according to TMZ.

In total, the ‘Seen It All’ rapper dropped $2,500 on the movie screening, while also also contributing $10,000 worth of toys to children through his Street Dreams Foundation. And to top it off, he even brought the young moviegoers to an Italian restaurant afterwards.

But the altruism in hip-hop didn’t stop there. The TDE crew did its part by putting on a free concert for the residents at Nickerson Gardens Projects in Watts, Calif. The lucky concertgoers got to see folks like Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q, SZA, Isaiah Rashad and, of course, Kendrick Lamar rock the mic.

And this past Tuesday (Dec. 23), 2 Chainz passed out two U-Haul trucks filled with toys and other goodies for a number of Atlanta children. He also brought a Make-A-Wish child on stage with him during his performance at Street Execs’ 5th Annual Christmas Concert.

The child’s name is Antoine and his sole Christmas wish was to meet the ‘Feds Watching’ creator, so 2 Chainz brought him up while performing his 2012 single, ‘I’m Different.’

“Last night I had the pleasure of meeting lil Antoine all the way from Minnesota,” he said. “His one wish was to meet me and get a chance to perform with me. Last night his wish came Tru.”

Merry Christmas!
