While members of the hip-hop community have been voicing their opinions on the recent grand jury decision regarding the Michael Brown shooting and Eric Garner chokehold cases, Iggy Azalea has come out with her own thoughts on how people can do more than just troll on social media. After a grand jury in New York decided that Officer Daniel Panteleo would not be indicted for putting Garner, who suffered from asthma, in a chokehold that later killed him, ‘The New Classic’ rapper took to the social media site to share a link to a Bustle piece that lists ways we can support the Brown family and Ferguson. HERE ARE SOME ACTUAL PRODUCTIVE WAYS YOU CAN HELP http://t.co/zi5SqDQsTc — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014 The sound off was inspired by longtime rival Azealia Banks, who called out Iggy for staying silent on the grand jury decisions. So instead of fight back by throwing some serious shade, the American Music Awards winner tried to just say her piece about how her supporters — and critics — should put change into action offline. Theres more to sparking a change than trolling on social media. World issues shouldnt be used as a poor excuse to promote fan battles. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014 Make sure you do something to let YOUR government know how you feel when something is unjust., not JUST your followers on twitter… — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014 Make sure you sign petitions, hit the streets and protest or donate to groups helping to support and rebuild the community too. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014 Also try not to judge anothers support or 'lack there of' solely on if they have ranted on twitter about it, thats not right or helpful. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014 The world is too hung up on what is or isnt said on twitter. theres an actual world out there and multiple ways you can promote change. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014 Be mad but be productive, please! Night twitter kids. Peace be with you. xoxo — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014 She also directed her followers’ attention to the fact that the link she posted to help out in the wake of Mike Brown’s death received the least amount of tweets. Also the fact the actual link i posted about helping has the LEAST RT's on my timeline lets me know your real concern is not awareness. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014 CLEARLY your CONCERN is finding any reason to promote shade, trolling, fan fights and memes. I know you guys by now, you don't fool me. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014 respect and love to all who did RT the link about ways to get out there and actually do something. you guys rock, nighty night. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) December 4, 2014 With 10 tweets in total, Iggy has shared her thoughts on the issue and hopes everyone will take the next step and put words into action.
