Azealia Banks is done wasting her efforts on relationships that don’t grow, and she passionately sings about it on ‘Chasing Time,’ an song with an old-school house vibe off her debut album, ‘Broke With Expensive Taste.’ The video for the track finds the rapper in a slick black-and-white world.

The Harlem-bred MC dons left-of-center outfits — check out that pasty ala Lil’ Kim — and shows off solid choreography. There’s also a futuristic look to the visual, as Banks sits in the middle of several balls suspended in mid-air, which look like miniature planets floating all around her. Plus, she switches back and forth from a black robe to a bunch of sexy, weird outfits.

As far as the choreography, she looks extremely comfortable with her four back-up dancers, and the sharp and decisive moves she makes don’t come off forced or contrived.

In a recent interview with Pitchfork, Banks said she wrote the song after she left her record label Interscope. “I was just like, ‘You know, this isn’t gonna work out,’” she said. “It was like that awkward point in a relationship where you’re forcing yourself to have sex because you’re like, ‘We live here, we’re sleeping in bed, it’s awkward if we don’t.”
