In celebration of the 20th anniversary of ‘The Infamous’ album, Mobb Deep released their retrospective ‘The Infamous Mobb Deep.’ The double-CD set features a disc of brand new songs. The Queensbridge , N.Y., rap duo appeared on the Urban Daily to perform their first single, ‘Taking You Off Here.’ In the accompanying interview, Havoc and Prodigy credit their career longevity to the music and their brotherhood. “We know that the music we make is powerful to us and to our fans,” said Prodigy. They also reveal ‘The Infamous Mobb Deep’ album is for their hardcore fans, in addition to new fans who aren’t familiar with their legacy in rap. “There’s a lot of people out there that don’t even realize that we make our beats?” said Prodigy. “They like, ‘Word, y’all make your own beats?’ A lot of people they just don’t know that.” “When you are consistent with the lyrics, the beats and the albums, at the end of the day, the people that put in the work will get their just due,” he continued.
