Contact Us When it comes to lyrical diss-a-thons Eminem is not the one to play with. Throughout his career, the Detroit spitfire has taken unapologetic shots at every celebrity in pop culture. During his chat with Power 106’s Big Boy, Em reveals that he wanted to throw lyrical darts at Kanye West and Lil Wayne. In the interview, Eminem shares the story behind the song ‘Talkin’ 2 Myself’ off the ‘Recovery’ LP, where he mentions that he wanted to diss West and Wayne. It was, at that time, a dark moment in his life when he was using a lot of drugs to numb his pain. “Anything that was hot at that moment, or anybody who was really killing s— at that moment, I felt so bad about myself and the music that I was creating, that I felt like I started to turn into a hater and it wasn’t just singling Kanye and Wayne out at that time period,” he explains. “For me, it would have been career suicide…there were some really dark moments in there when I think about how my thought process was when I was like, high a lot.” Eminem is currently preparing for the Monster Tour, the performance trek he’s headlining with Rihanna. The three-city trek begins on Aug. 7 at Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., followed by the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Aug. 16 and Comerica Park in Detroit on Aug. 22. Eminem says that if he couldn’t do music he would “lose his f—ing mind. “Actually I am the type of person that does have to do music, this is my passion, this is what I’m passionate about,” he shares.
