The NBA All-Star Weekend festivities kick off with a purpose in New Orleans tonight (Feb. 14).

Courtesy of Cliffhanger Productions, fans in town for the weekend will be invited to enjoy a three-day concert series at The Howlin’ Wolf (907 S Peters St., New Orleans, LA 70130) that will feature Rick Ross, Yo Gotti and T.I. to name a few. The objective of the festivities will be to bring awareness to New Orleans-based charities like the Mandela Foundation — Africa Rising, The Root of Music, and Home Mission, Inc.

Tonight, the first show will be headlined by Rick Ross and Yung Houston. Saturday’s set will be led by Grand Hustle general T.I. with Miguel offering assistance and Sunday night will showcase Yo Gotti onstage to close the series out. Beyond the concerts, there will be a brunch on Sunday (Feb. 16), hosted by Elle Varner and Keyshia Cole specifically benefiting the Africa Rising Foundation.

This year, Cliffhanger Productions, partnering with Knowledge Masters, 2ndToNoneEntertainment and I.M.P.A.C.T. Charity Experience, is working to continue their tradition of giving light to local charities through well-planned entertainment. In 2013, they worked with Chris Brown during the BET Awards in Los Angeles and now they hope to make a major impact while giving back to the people of New Orleans.
