Help often comes from the most unexpected of places. A prisoner in South Carolina is trying to help incarcerated rapper Gucci Mane get out of jail and beat federal charges. How will he go about doing this? By by becoming the ‘Trap House’ creator’s lawyer.

Jerry Lewis Dedrick, 51, who’s currently locked up in a Williamsburg federal prison in Salters, S.C., has drawn up legal papers to try and help Gucci Mane beat his gun charges. TMZ shares that Dedrick’s motion includes nonsensical arguments such as how possessing a gun is not a crime.

Since Dedrick isn’t the 1017 Brick Squad Records founder’s actual lawyer, these documents cannot be filed for the rapper. Dedrick apparently thinks he can crack the case and wants his arguments to be sent to Gucci’s team.

Gucci is accused of having a loaded handgun on two separate occasions and making threats to individuals, including police and his attorney. He faces up to 20 years in federal prison and fines up to $500,000.
