Two rap veterans Prince Po and Oh No have teamed up on a new song called ‘Toxic.’ Don’t worry, nothing dangerous here — just pure beats and rhymes. What makes this song so special is the two men’s rap pedigree. Prince Po is one-half of the legendary group Organized Konfusion with Pharoahe Monch. California rhymer Oh No is the younger brother of famed hip-hop producer Madlib and their father is ’70s soul singer Otis Jackson. So with the introductions out of the way, let’s get into the music. On the piano-driven ‘Toxic,’ produced by Oh No, himself, the duo spit aggressive metaphoric bars to let emcees know that they don’t play around on the microphone. “Lethal injections in ya veins, I’m a prophet / Sulfuric acid setting into your brain it’s acrostic,” raps Po. Oh No follows behind him describing his lyrical flow as a disease that paralyzes fake MCs. “You can tell that my s— is like a soundbite of leprosy / Damage their nerves when they are next to me / I’m cooking up the recipe like ricin / Like ain’t nobody checkin’ for these,” he spits. ‘Toxic’ is a musical concoction that is lyrically explosive.
