Lauryn Hill Sings Beatles' Tribute 'Something' on 'Letterman'

Lauryn Hill makes a rare television appearance and we are grateful for it. The rapper-singer performed the Beatles classic ‘Something’ on Late Night with David Letterman in honor of the group’s U.S. television debut on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’ 50 years ago.

Ms. Hill looked radiant in her plaid flannel dress, leather motorcycle jacket and fedora hat. The ex-Fugees was backed by a full band that consist of two guitarists who added a rock edge to her aching vocals.

Ms. Hill’s ‘Letterman”s performance is in lieu of CBS’ two-hour special, ’The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles.’ The program will air this Sunday (Feb. 9) at 8PM ET. Grammy-winning artists Alicia Keys, Gary Clark, Jr., John Legend and more will perform on the special.
