Owen Wilson Begins The Coup

Halloween or no, principle photography began yesterday in Thailand on director John Erick Dowdle’s (Devil, Quarantine) upcoming action thriller, The Coup.

The movie stars Owen Wilson and Lake Bell (Black Rock, Surface) as an American husband and wife who get swept up in a Southeast Asian military takeover. Fortunately for them, Pierce Brosnan is on board, playing a “heroic government operative.” Presumably one not named James Bond.

The script was co-written by Dowdle and his brother, Drew Dowdle. The busy brothers also reportedly just wrapped production on Legendary Pictures’ micro-budget treasure hunt movie, As Above So Below.
