Borat Director Teams with Robert Redford, Nick Nolte

Borat/Bruno director and Seinfeld/Curb Your Enthusiam EP Larry Charles is now set to direct Robert Redford and Nick Nolte in A Walk in the Woods, based on Bill Bryson's bestselling memoir.

Deadline reports that the film, adapted for the screen by Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3, Star Wars: Episode VII), is scheduled to begin production this March.

The story is described as a road trip comedy about an aging travel writer who hikes the Appalachian Trail with his long-estranged buddy from high school.

"Growing up in the wilds of Brooklyn, you can see why I was the natural choice to direct A Walk In The Woods," Charles joked. "I didn't see a tree till I was 27. I've pitched a lot of projects, but I've never pitched a tent. But A Walk In The Woods is not merely about a hike. It is an epic, intense, absurd journey through our collective past, present and future."

Route One Films will finance the project along with Union Investment Partners in South Korea.
